The benefit will feature family-friendly activities during the day, including a jumping castle, stilt-walkers and an appearance by SpongeBob SquarePants, the star of a popular cartoon. At night, rock bands will take the stage.
Cast members from the soap opera “Guiding Light” also will be present, and celebrities such as Bette Midler and members of the New York Mets and Yankees have offered items for a silent auction.
“It’s overwhelming,” Lauren Quinn said. “There are so many people involved to support us.”
