OFFICE DEPOT CENTER IS #1
Office Depot Center Finishes Ahead of Madison Square Garden,
Staples Center in Most Recent Rankings
SUNRISE – Trade publication Venues Today announced that the Office Depot Center was the top-rated entertainment facility for the period from Feb. 15-March 15, grossing more than $3.5 million for five shows, with almost 60,000 in total attendance for the specified time frame. The Office Depot Center grossed more than $500,000 ahead of its second place competitor, the Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif., and more than $1 million better than Madison Square Garden (3rd) and the Staples Center (4th).
“We are very honored to receive this recognition from Venues Today as the top-rated entertainment facility for the aforementioned period,” said Chief Operating Office Michael Yormark. “Our entire staff has worked extremely hard to make sure that the Office Depot Center is indeed ‘The Center Of It All’ for entertainment in South Florida. Thanks to our organization’s tireless efforts, the Office Depot Center continues to emerge as one of the premier entertainment venues in the country.”
From Feb. 15-March. 15, the Office Depot Center hosted five different shows, including Barney’s Colorful World, Bette Midler, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Missy Elliott, Linkin Park and John Mayer. Bette Midler’s two performances ranked as the third best event nationwide for the period, and her two shows on Feb. 28 and 29, drew more than 20,000 in total attendance.
“Our entertainment-filled schedule continues this summer with many great shows,” Yormark said. “Jimmy Buffett returns to the Office Depot Center on May 1, followed by Eric Clapton on June 15, Shania Twain on July 10 and Madonna on July 28. Those are just a few of the sensational performances that will be visiting the Office Depot Center during the upcoming months.”
