The New York Restoration Project, started by Bette Midler, has hired Julia Erickson as its new executive director.
Ms. Erickson was formerly the executive director of City Harvest.
Her distinguished background of community service includes leadership roles in economic and low-income housing development, job training, and community garden programming. Julia looks forward to meeting NYRP members and supporters throughout the coming weeks.
She replaces Joseph Pupello, who was with the nonprofit for around eight years.
The Restoration Project, which restores community gardens, will unveil two new gardens tomorrow on 114th Street in East Harlem.
