I heard from Eric Kornfeld just before Turkey Day and he was chock-full of information. Some of which I am sad to say I’m posting a little late, but here goes:
Bette (and her husband, Martin) just got back from China, where Sophie’s doing a study program this semester. As you know, Bette has a lot of TV appearances coming up for the Christmas CD.
By the way, if you scour the CD for info like I do, many of you may have noticed that Eric and Bette Sussman have some lyric credits on “WINTER WONDERLAND and LET IT SNOW” – the melding of the 2 song medley that Bette sings with legend, Johnny Mathis – with help from the Divine Miss M! Also, the additional lyrics for “COOL YULE” (the title song) are by Eric Kornfeld. alone. By the way, “COOL YULE” was originally recorded by Louie Armstrong and written by Steve Allen! It only has 1 verse however and Bette wanted a second one.
Although this is a day late and a dollar short (I’m sure there will be repeats) Eric wrote the LOGO broadcast of the OUT 100 (it aired the Sunday after Turkey day). Wilson Cruz is the host, and the guests include Anne Hathaway, Iman, Michael Kors, Rufus Wainwright and many more! Check it out to see if you get the station and then look for repeats. Yours truly DID NOT make the episode! 🙂 Here are some more air dates – check your local cable provider to see if you get the LOGO channel:
Presented with OUT Magazine, this show celebrates the top 100 gay and lesbian success stories of 2006. Join the party to find out who made the list from the worlds of entertainment, sports, business and politics and learn about the accomplishments that landed them on the list.

Eric has also been writing for INSTINCT (GLBT mag) and has a story in this months issue (Nov). It’s the Leading Man issue and he interviewed B-way director/choreographer, Jerry Mitchell and also about the birth of Broadway Bares . Tim Gunn is on the cover and there’s a photo of Eric with the other contributers toward the front of the magazine. Try to pick it up. Hurry before the December issue comes out.
In December’s issue of GO NYC, Eric reviews of GREY GARDENS, a feature on THE LITTLE DOG LAUGHED, and an interview with playwright, Douglas Carter Beane.
So I would say, Mr. Kornfeld has been busy as a bizzy, bizzy little bee!
And of course, he’s always working with The Divine One herself – Miss M…
Love, Mister D
