Image Entertainment Announces U.S. Distribution Agreement for THINKFilm’s Then She Found Me

Academy Award®Winning Actress Helen Hunt Directs and Stars with Matthew Broderick, Bette Midler and Colin Firth in Touching Drama

Then She Found Me Currently Playing in Theaters

CHATSWORTH, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Image Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: DISK), a leading independent licensee, producer and distributor of home entertainment programming in North America, announced today that it has entered into a U.S. distribution agreement with CT1 Holdings, LLC, parent company of THINKFilm, for certain home video rights and all broadcast, digital and non-theatrical rights to THINKFilm’s Then She Found Me, currently showing in select theaters across the country.

The film stars Helen Hunt (As Good As It Gets, What Women Want), Bette Midler (The Stepford Wives, Beaches), Colin Firth (Love Actually, Pride and Prejudice) and Matthew Broderick (The Producers, Stepford Wives). Hunt, who makes her feature film directing debut, also co-wrote and produced the film. The THINKFilm theatrical release opened April 25 and is currently playing in the top 25 markets on over 100 screens.

Adapted from Elinor Lipman’s novel of the same name, an all-star cast powers Then She Found Me, a smart, funny and touching drama about love and destiny. Desperate to start a family, schoolteacher April Epner (Hunt) is thrown into confusion when she is unexpectedly abandoned by her husband (Broderick). She gets another shock when she meets her unusual birth mother (Midler), a self-centered talk show host who’s not exactly the ideal mom. At first she rejects her, along with the attentions of a divorced dad (Firth), until she finds her life opening up in ways she had never imagined.

“A great cast, combined with the feature directorial debut of an Academy Award®-winning Best Actress, will make Then She Found Me a favorite pick across all home entertainment markets,” said Bill Bromiley, chief acquisitions officer of Image Entertainment. “We’re very pleased to be distributing a theatrical film of this caliber.”

The film will also be distributed on DVD through Lionsgate to certain sell-through and mass merchant customers under a prior contractual arrangement with THINKFilm.

  1. hey Don, you dont have to put this in comments. I just figured it was quicker to say this here, lol, instead of sending an email. Monday, May 19 at 8 pm. Eastern time Sarah Jessica Parker is going to be the guest on Inside the Actors studio on Bravo. SO most likely Bette will be mentioned somewhere either in the aspect of inspiration or the fact they worked together on Hocus Pocus and First WIves Club. SO I thought I would give ya the heads up 🙂 Hope you are doing well, my dear friend!!
    Love ya
