R.I.P.: Bitsey – December 16, 2011

Mister D: I know this site is about Bette, and in some respects this post will be about her in someway, but since this site is also a blog/scrapbook, to the dismay of some, it’s going to incorporate bits of my personality as well. That’s the nature of the beast and it’s why I chose this format….for better or worse.

I had to put to sleep yesterday afternoon, for the second December in a row, another one of my babies (cats). This time it was Bitsey and it was for kidney failure. It just came out of nowhere. I have to say this cat was one of the most rambunctious, bounce off the walls, active cats I have ever had. She was a little spitfire and could be a little bitchy at times. I could have named her Cris and gotten away with it! 🙂 Sorry Cris…just a little yoke! But like my friend Cris and so many of you….she was so loveable….she had a very angelic side. She’d cuddle with me and give me kitty kisses at the most awkward times, but I grew to love them. And my favorite time was scrunching up close at bedtime resting for her active day ahead….

Yes, I’m sad my little partner is gone, but it’s for the best. And I know there are a family of Bradshaw cats in Kitty Heaven just waiting to take her by her little paw and lift her up singing a chorus of “Paradise.” Yes, that would be her favorite song….every time I played it she went insane when the drums and electric guitars kicked in….she’d run around the room, jump atop couches and chairs, knock things off the coffee table….she was my very own Bette Midler cat fan and punk rocker to boot! I miss you already Bits! Give em’ hell in Heaven….I love you!

May a chorus of angels sing you up to “Paradise”

Love, Don

  1. Oh, Don. I am so sorry, honey. I sincerely understand and appreciate what you are going through.

What a year this has been for you.

I’m here if you need me.

  2. So sorry to hear about Bitsy, she looked very much like one of my past kitties.
I too have a few babies in kitty heaven, I hope Bitsy finds my Calvin & Hobbes – they can meow a few Bette tunes together 😉
    xxoo
