NEW YORK, Oct. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) announced today that it will air extensive Halloween-themed programming for all ages and interests. From scary stories for grown-ups, to party sounds for kids and families, and contributions from celebrities ranging from the legendary rock band KISS to Larry The Cable Guy, SiriusXM will broadcast an unparalleled variety of innovative and exclusive Halloween radio choices.

Scream Radio, the limited-run channel, is the ultimate scary sound-effect soundtrack for everyone trick-or-treating, hosting Halloween parties at home and in the office, or getting into the Halloween spirit while driving. Created from SiriusXM’s extensive library of screams, creaks and groans, the channel also includes custom mixes of sound effects by celebrity guests including Larry The Cable Guy, Rick Springfield, Tori Amos and many others. Broadcasts will also include eerie audio recorded at some of this year’s biggest haunted houses.

As part of the Halloween celebration, Scream Radio will air “SiriusXM’s Town Hall with Kiss,” an intimate Q&A session with the multi-platinum selling band, at 12:00 pm on October 31. Scream Radio begins airing Friday, October 19, 2012 at 6:00 am ET to Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 3:00 am ET via satellite on Sirius channel 123, XM channel 142, and online on Comedy Showcase channel 770 at SiriusXM.com and through the SiriusXM Internet Radio App for smartphones and mobile devices.

SiriusXM also launches Scare Nation, an all-KISS, limited-run channel scheduled to air Friday, October 26 starting at 6:00 pm ET through Monday, October 29 at 3:00 am ET on channel 39. From their 1974 self-titled debut through their 20th studio album, Monster, “Scare Nation” will showcase the music from the band’s entire career. Listeners will also hear the band members talking about their new album, touring, their fans and much more.

In addition, SiriusXM will broadcast Halloween programming across multiple talk and entertainment channels, including:

Martha Stewart Living Radio (SiriusXM channel 110): Starting October 22, special guests will offer listeners tips for head-turning costumes, fun makeup, chilling decor, cocktail and punch suggestions for entertaining, pumpkin-carving tips from Master Carver Michael Natiello and more. In addition, Frank DeCaro, host of SiriusXM OutQ’s Frank DeCaro Show, will broadcast live from Bette Midler’s “Hulaween” Party in New York City, on October 31, interviewing special guests including Martha Stewart.

SiriusXM Book Radio (SiriusXM channel 80) transforms into Boo!k Radio, offering listeners non-stop scary stories, starting Friday, October 26 at 7:00pm ET and continuing through Halloween. The fright-themed audiobooks, dramas and horror novels include Stephen King’s classic Cujo; short stories by Edgar Allen Poe; classic episodes of The Twilight Zone, hosted by Stacy Keach; Fangoria’s Dread Time Stories, hosted by Malcolm McDowell; and episodes of “Vincent Price Presents.” The channel will be hosted by R.L. Stine, best-selling author and creator of Goosebumps.

SiriusXM RadioClassics (SiriusXM channel 82) becomes “The Golden Age of Halloween,” airing non-stop Halloween episodes of old-time radio shows, beginning at 12:00 am on Friday, October 26. Special broadcasts will include a rare recording of the final séance reaching out to the ghost of Harry Houdini ”“ recorded on Halloween night in 1936 ”“ Halloween humor from Jack Benny, Abbott & Costello, Fibber McGee and Molly, and scary radio dramas such as “The Witch’s Tale,” “Dark Fantasy,” and “Inner Sanctum Mysteries.”

Cinemagic (SiriusXM channel 750): Halloween on SiriusXM’s movie music channel offers listeners across the country a 10-day celebration of all things scary: from unique horror-themed programming to its annual “Chopdown” of the Top 100 scariest movie scores of all time. The chills and thrills start Monday, October 22 at 10:00 am ET.

Lance Bass, host of SiriusXM’s Dirty Pop with Lance Bass, takes you inside a private séance at the Mystic Alter in Hollywood, Halloween Eve beginning at 6:00 pm ET and the annual Hollywood “Halloweenie” party benefiting the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, Halloween Day beginning at 6:00 pm ET on SiriusXM OutQ, channel 108. This year’s “Halloweenie” party will be held at The Lot, home to HBO’s True Blood.
