WHAT DO YOU KNOW NOW THAT YOU DIDN’T KNOW IN YOUR 20s or 30s?

Bette Midler, star of “Parental Guidance” on parenting kids and beauty tips.

WHAT I KNOW ABOUT ”¦.PARENTING: “What I know now is there is good and bad in every parenting style. You shouldn’t be rigid about anything. You have to be flexible and listen to your child. Of course, you need to be firm when it’s time to be firm.

“I’m not sure all this hovering parents do is a great thing for kids. It’s a little crippling. You don’t want kids to be weeds or hothouse flowers. There is a happy medium.

“I think children should be kept warm, fed and brought up to be human beings.”

WHAT I KNOW ABOUT ”¦.NATURAL BEAUTY TIPS: “What I know about beauty and style is simple. The main thing is you have to move. You must move. At the same time, you have to accept your body and learn to like your body.

“It’s also crucial to stop putting stuff into your body that turns your body against you including acid inducing stuff. That’s how people get out of whack.

“What I know about my body is to keep it in balance. Currently, I do pretty tough Pilates and I dance to stay in shape.

“Dance! You must dance. It’s one of the best parts of life. It really breaks a sweat and it’s fun.”

WHAT I KNOW ABOUT ”¦GETTING OLDER

“You must stay engaged in the world. Don’t just sit on the couch. Get out there. Learn! Every day is a new adventure if you make it an adventure!”

  1. Great advice….Also, as others have mentioned I love her hair! She looks ageless!!

I think this is just me, but I still miss Bette as a redhead. I’m looking at the picture above, and imagining Bette as a strawberry-blonde. It would be a great way to combine the two colors, be unique, stand out, and dazzle. There’s redheads, and there’s blondes, but how many out there are strawberry blonde? (No, I’m not smoking the good weed, I just have the day off)
