Midler on Princess Diana: Bette Midler was asked how she felt about the death of Princess Diana.
“I have very mixed feelings. I was really heartbroken at her passing. I hope people realize that it’s their need for this kind of.. . it’s the people who buy the tabloids who have to put their feet down. They’re the ones who hold all the cards.”
She also criticized the owners of tabloids: “They must be hiding under rocks. They set the editorial policy…. It’s been a very rough couple of weeks. There are big questions that need to be answered. People are still stunned. I know I am.
