Grosses Analysis: Hamilton, Hello, Dolly! and The Lion King Continue Reign at Broadway Box Office

Hamilton, the Bette Midler-led Hello, Dolly! and Disney‘s long-running The Lion King dominated the Broadway box office for the week ending August 27, each bringing in more than $2 million in a week that showed respectable, if quiet, box office figures for most shows.
Hamilton continues to lead the pack, taking in nearly $3 million ($2,964,052), followed by Hello, Dolly! at $2,198,977, and The Lion King with $2,053,299.

Other stronger performers in the week’s frontrunners were Dear Evan Hansen with $1,649,281, marking one of its strongest weeks on Broadway, and Wicked, which brought in $1,608,955; Disney’s Aladdin rounds out the pack with a take of $1,477,796.
Year to year, Broadway was up at the box office, earning $26,278,505 last week compared to $21,495,765 in 2016.
