Join the New York Restoration Project (NYRP) on Friday, August 6th from noon to 2:00pm when 22 children from NYRP’s Boatbuilding Program will launch two Nutshell proms, seven and a half foot long wooden rowboats, which they built themselves, on the Harlem River.

For more information or to rsvp, call NYRP’s Boatbuilding Educator Jeff Weber at (646) 733-7929. The launch will begin promptly at noon at NYRP’s Boatbuilding shop, located at 3725 10th Avenue, just north of Dyckman Street in northern Manhattan [Map]. The nearest subway stop is Dyckman Street on the 1 train line.

Founded by Bette Midler in 1995, the non-profit New York Restoration Project (NYRP) reclaims, restores, and develops under-resourced parks, community gardens, and open space throughout New York City, primarily in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods. NYRP invests in the communities it serves by providing ongoing maintenance and environmental education and recreational programs.
