Saving the Earth has become the hot issue in Hollywood, so ABC is bringing you “The Earth Day Special,” April 22, the 20th anniversary of the first Earth Day, which drew the attention mostly of people clad in denim and T-shirts emblazoned with peace symbols.
An all-star cast is signed up, including Bette Midler, who is scheduled to play Mother Earth.
Don’t expect any blasts at major television advertisers like Exxon or McDonald’s, however.
That wouldn’t be fair.
