I just received an email from Mr. Keith Caulfield, editor of Billboard Chart Alert, stating that he found out from Sony that the tentative release date for Bette’s “Bette Midler Sings The Peggy Lee Songbook” is October 25th! Hope all stays on track…release dates can change, but this is pretty solid it seems….thanks much to Mr. Caulfield!
Love, Mister D

FIRST CLOONEY, NOW LEE
Hi Keith!
I’ve heard a rumor that Bette Midler has a new album in the works for this fall — another tribute similar to that of her “Rosemary Clooney Songbook” album. This time it’s covers of Peggy Lee tunes. Is this true? Do you have any information on this rumor?
Thank you!
Dustin
Hi Dustin,
The Divine Miss M’s new album, “Bette Midler Sings the Peggy Lee Songbook,” will be released Oct. 25 in the United States via Columbia. A track list and other assorted details have not yet been announced.
The “Peggy Lee” album is the follow-up to Midler’s 2003 set “Bette Midler Sings the Rosemary Clooney Songbook.” That effort debuted at No. 14 on The Billboard 200, spent 22 weeks on the chart and has sold 721,000 U.S. copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
