Michael Parkinson has added another year to his contract with ITV, keeping him at the broadcaster until the end of 2007.
The veteran presenter joined ITV from the BBC in 2004 after his long-running chatshow was not guaranteed its usual Saturday night slot.
“I’m really delighted to have signed for another year at ITV,” said Parkinson in a statement. “It was an easy decision. I’ve felt at home here since I first arrived and the show has gone from strength to strength.”
The fourth series of his ITV talker begins in March, with confirmed guests including Sharon Stone, Jamie Foxx, Bette Midler and Jane Fonda.
Parkinson’s new deal comes as ITV scrambles to tie down key talent following Paul O’Grady’s suprise defection to Channel 4 last month.
