Nov 29, 2007
“Get ready Vegas, ’cause here I come! Caesars Palace will never be the same and to all those critics who have accused me of being ‘tacky,’ ‘too much’ and ‘over the top’ I say, you ain’t seen nuthin’ yet!”

That’s Bette Midler, talking about her upcoming Vegas stint. The legendary sensation has signed on with entertainment promoter AEG Live for a minimum two-year deal as the new resident artist at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, starting in February 2008.
The show is being officially described as her “biggest, most imaginative production,” and promises “plenty of girls, gags and guffaws.” Midler will reportedly perform approximately one hundred shows a year at Caesars Palace, and the show will be presented at 7:30 p.m. every night except Monday and Thursday.

Hey Mr D!
This is the one major draw back of living in Australia, we miss out on being eligible to enter competitions like this. I would give anything to see Bette play at Caesars and meet her at the after party. All the more reason I hope she releases a new live album (totally uncensored) and a new live DVD (totally uncensored.)
Speaking of DVD’s, do you know of any indications if “Kiss My Brass” will ever be released on DVD?
Just before I go, I know that December 1st is Bette’s Birthday, but it is also world AIDS day. It has been 25 years since the virus came about, 25 years of incredible losses of friends, family and loved ones. 25 years, it still feels like yesterday when we first heard about this heinous disease. While we take time out to think of Bette on her birthday and our loved ones who are no longer with us, we should all take the opportunity to also celebrate life and hope for a much brighter future, a brighter future that one day soon a cure will come along, so that world AIDS day is no longer a day of sorrow for so many, but a day of happiness for all.
Big Hugz!

Manny, sorry about the international glitch with the contest. That does suck.
I’ve been told there are no plans to release the KMB DVD, but I also never truly believe 100% of what I’m told….:-)
I always remember World AIDS Day. I’ll probably just put up what you wrote. So elegant and to the point.
Love, Mister D
