Iris Plainer Dart’s best-seller arrives on the screen with Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey playing out the remarkable friendship between an outgoing performer and a reserved San Francisco’heiress. Guess which one is Midler’s role.
Bette also sings for the first time since her Oscar-nominated performance in “The Rose.” Her director is Garry Marshall.
