Bette Midler was honored in New York City today for her efforts to help improve the environment.
Bette Midler is the founder of the New York Restoration Project, which is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the New York City parks, open spaces and community gardens.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg will was on hand to present Bette Midler with the 2012 Doris C. Freedman Award. Doris Freedman was a pioneer in the field of public art, especially in New York City. She passed away in 1981.
