She’s known by her stage name of The Divine Miss M and her career as an actress, singer, comedienne, and businesswoman has lasted almost 50 years.

But Bette Midler, said at 66, she is still struggling to completely find her feet in Hollywood.

The actress broke down during a TV interview with Oprah Winfrey on Sunday when she was asked about her work and family life.

The star looked effortlessly glamorous as she wore a bright orange blouse an a pair of black and while striped trousers.

She wore her hair in curls and completed her look by accessorising with a pair of gold earrings.

Meanwhile, Oprah looked as stylish as ever and wore a sequined pink jumper with a white shirt underneath.

As the pair begun the interview for TV show OWN, Oprah asked the award winning star if she felt confident in herself.

But the Broadway star admitted she still has some way to go before she can feel truly happy as she aims to achieve more in life.

Bette said: ‘I’ve settled into myself about 60%, the other 40 is still struggling… The vestiges of that, “Got to get there, got to get there.” The vestiges of that are still alive and they make themselves felt.’

And while the actress admits she is able to convince herself she has achieved some great things throughout her career, she is unable to completely block out her doubts.

She added: ‘I think I’m there but that 40% is just still making noise. But I’ve raised a fabulous daughter, my marriage has lasted 28 years.’

When asked if the best decision of her life was marrying husband Martin von Haselberg, Bette added: ‘Absolutely, yes.’

Bette also revealed she suffered when acting work dried up earlier in her career despite her being nominated for an Oscar for her role in 1979 film The Rose.

And while the star has both been nominated for and won a host of other awards, she insists she is now having a “lie down” after a two years run with her show The Show Girl Must Go On in Las Vegas
