How did things wind up on the Woody AllenBette Midler movie “Scenes From a Mall ” ?

Well, when the film wrapped recently in New York, the two stars were relating to one another much better than in the early stages. (Woody wasn’t used to dealing with big superstars and things were touch and go at first.)

However, all’s well that ends well.

Woody, however, opted not to attend the wrap party.

Bette did!

  1. I love Bette! I adore her and everything she does. However, on most of her projects there is always some tension between her and her coworkers. Most articles i read about her relationships on sets or in the studio are about a fight or not getting along. As she once said, perfection isn’t easy! It doesn’t matter the end result is always fantastic!

  2. Woody Allen isn’t exactly the simplest person in the world. He’s a guy who won’t attend the Academy Awards, even when he’s nominated, because he has a permanent gig playing in a bar in NYC! That tells you something about his ego.

Jill, I also thought along similar lines on what concerns The Divine One and co-workers. But I didn’t get any tension between Miss M, Glenn Close, Nicole Kidman, Kathy Najimi, Sarah Jessica Parker, Denny DeVito, Barbara Hershey, Triny Alvarado, Stephen Collins, Dolly Parton, Nathan Lane, Stockard Channing, Billy Crystal, Marisa Tomei, Helen Hunt, Colling Firth, Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton, Nick Nolte, Richard Dreyfuss etc, etc, etc.

I think Miss M is a very driven artist who, in the first part of her acting career, was more concerned with having the work done than diplomacy with her co-stars. But I’m sure Bette is easier to work with than other stars.
