Bette Midler is one of those amazing talents that can really do it all, sing, act and tell a joke.
There are a lot that do all of that, but there are few who can pull it off like Midler.
In recent years she has been devoting a lot of time toward her family and her acting career.
Through that she has remained close to her musical roots.
Her latest album is called Some People’s Lives and it’s pure Midler through and through.
Her first release to radio, From A Distance, almost has a gospel feel. It even features the Radio Choir of New Hope Baptist Church in New Jersey. It is just one of the touching ballads that appears on the album.
Midler still has a lot of fun with her music, evident in the Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy styled Miss Otis Regrets.
Some critics may dismiss this album as just another singer trying to cash in with a big band sound!
Midler has been doing this all her career and that Some People’s lives is a progressive step for her.
