LOS ANGELES (AP) – Three actors from the film Get Shorty and two from the television series Frasier collected American Comedy Awards for performances named the funniest in their categories. John Travolta, Bette Midler and Dennis Farina won for funniest actor, funniest supporting female and funniest supporting male respectively for Get Shorty.

Kclscy Grammer and David Hyde Pierce, who plays his brother on Frasier, won for funnicsl male performer and funniest supporting male respectively. The 10th Annual American Comedy Awards were presented Sunday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The show will be broadcast on ABC-TV on March 6.

The other winners: – Helen Hunt, funniest female performer in a television series, Mad About You; Tracy Ullman, funniest female performer in a television special, Women of the Night IV; Dennis Miller, funniest male performer in a television special, Dennis Miller: Slate of the Union.Undressed; Alicia Silverstone, funniest actress in a motion picture. Clueless; Christine Baranski, funniest supporting female, television, CybillAnnc Bancroft and Milton Berle won lifetime achievement awards. James Burrows won a creative achievement award for his work on Cheers, Taxi, Frasier and Friends.
