YET another double-CD collection of rock and pop’s finest female singers boasts headline names like Madonna, Alanis Morisette, Dido, The Corrs and Annie Lennox but the real gems are to be found further down the batting order. Bette Midler’s The Rose is still bloomin’ beautiful and Sarah McLachlan’s Adia is worth the price alone. Forgotten hits include Billie Myers’ Kiss The Rain, Alannah Myles’ Black Velvet and Maria Muldaur’s Midnight At The Oasis but the down side is that you have to suffer Cher,Natalie Imbruglia and that daft DNA remix of Suzanne Vega’s Tom’s Diner.
