Christopher Maloney has told Digital Spy that his dream duet in the X Factor final would be with Bette Midler.
Gary Barlow‘s last remaining Overs act said that it would feel like full circle if he were to perform with the US icon, because his journey started with a cover of her song ‘The Rose‘ at his first audition.
Watch our interview with Christopher Maloney:
“It started in Liverpool with a Bette Midler song, I’d love to do a Bette Midler duet,” Maloney told DS at the Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 UK premiere. “I very much doubt it, but it would be a wish of mine.”
The singer also insisted that constant rumors in the press about his alleged diva behavior behind the scenes were not bothering him because they are untrue.
“We did a show at Disneyland a couple of days ago in front of a couple of thousand people and that’s given me the confidence to go out there and sing, regardless of what the judges say and what the negative press is,” said the Liverpudlian.
“If it was true, I wouldn’t mind. If it was true, I’d be upset. But because it isn’t true, it doesn’t bother me.
“I don’t know where some of the stories are coming from, but they’re absolutely ridiculous.”
The X Factor continues this weekend with a Guilty Pleasures theme
