Bette Midler mixed it up with other celebs and fashion industry professionals who attended the Bette Midler New York Restoration Project 18th Annual Spring Picnic at Gracie Mansion on May 30, 2013 in New York City.

For the occasion, the 67-year-old Honolulu, Hawaii-born singer wore a pretty scarf print blue, pink and red tunic with white capris and brown peeptoe slingbacks. Might one add that Bette’s short, wavy hairstyle also suits her extremely well”¦

Journalist Katie Couric too worn red in the way of a red printed skirt, teamed with a black cowl neck top and black flats.

Another pal and fellow singer/actress, Bernadette Peters attended in a monochrome black pants ensemble, donning black metal-framed shades to complete the look.

Actress Parker Posey looked summery in her red dress embellished with golden tassels, while Todd Thomas, the Creative Genius and Head Designer for Victoria’s Secret, wowed in his jade green ensemble, teamed with checkerboard oxfords!

Others from the fashion world were Designer Michael Kors and married partner Lance LePere, and Tim Gunn, who matched Bette perfectly in baby blue, red and white! Was that planned?

Also attending the charity event at Gracie Mansion in style were Philanthropist Ann Ziff and singer Rosanne Cash, who is the daughter of legendary crooner Johnny Cash!

Ms Midler reportedly started the New York Restoration Project fundraiser when she returned to New York in 1995 because she was shocked at what had happened to her beloved city that had given birth to her career.

Bette said that people had been throwing their garbage out the window and leaving their lunches on the ground. That upset her so much that she apparently didn’t sleep for a week!

Midler finally realized that she needed to be proactive and do something, “even if it meant picking up trash with my own two hands,” she explained.

Very admirable of Bette Midler and certainly something that the citizens of New York undoubtedly appreciate!
