Is Ugly Betty the movie coming? More importantly, will Bette Midler have a cameo role?

The cast of Ugly Betty are apparently hoping Bette Midler will cameo in a movie version of the TV show.
Midler is said to be a ”˜dream cameo’ for the Ugly Betty cast, who are all committed to return for the film.
According to The Sun, cast members ”“ including star America Ferrera ”“ have been trying to get show writer Silvio Horta to pen a script for a movie that takes place four years after the show’s last episode.
Ana Ortiz, who played Betty’s sister Hilda, told The Sun that the cast are ”˜determined’ to make a film happen, and possibly even take it to Broadway.
She said: ”˜I just saw Vanessa Williams and we were determined, fingers crossed.
”˜It is a New York show so there would have to be New York celebrities. We always wanted to get Bette Midler.
She went on: ”˜What about an Ugly Betty musical on Broadway? We all like to sing. Some sing better than others.’
Ugly Betty ran for four seasons from 2006 to 2010.
