NEW YORK – Just in time to coincide with the release of her new album of the same title, Wynonna Judd takes center stage on the tuneful “Wynonna: Revelations” (10 p.m., WTVHTV, Channel 5). The hour was taped before an obviously adoring audience at Sunset Studios in Nashville, Tenn.
Judd performs seven songs – selected from her latest release and her previous “Wynonna” and “Tell Me Why” albums – including her current single, “To Be Loved by You.”
In addition, Bette Midler shows up to sing “The Rose” in a duet with Judd and “In This Life” solo.
To cement her bond with her fans, Judd sings “My Angel Is Here” to her son as he crawls about the stage – at one point snatching up the sheet music of a guitarist, who smiles indulgently and gamely plays on. A very little of this sort of thing goes a very long way with us, but the audience seems to lap it up like kittens in a creamery, so what do we know?
