Sitcomland is quickly becoming the high-rent district of Hollywood. Mary Tyler Moore and Sally Field already have gigs set for the upcoming year; now Bette Midler seems ready to jump into the fray.
Plans are coming together for the Divine Miss M‘s series, which would be produced by Bonnie and Terry Turner, the folks behind “3rd Rock From the Sun.”
No network has come forth to sign Midler’s project up, but CBS could have the inside track: Midler is producing a sitcom for them based on her backup group, The Harlettes
