Idina Menzel and Nia Long spanned a lifetime of friendship in a new trailer for the upcoming Beaches remake.

The 45-year-old Frozen star and Long, 46, are starring in the Lifetime reboot airing in January.

The extended trailer opened with Long portraying Hillary and talking to her young daughter.

Menzel stars in the TV movie as ‘C.C.’ who is Hillary’s best friend since childhood.

The Lifetime film is a remake of the 1988 comedy-drama of the same name starring Bette Midler as C.C. and Barbara Hershey as Hillary.

The film was an adaptation of the 1985 novel Beaches written by Iris Rainer Dart.

The trailer showed C.C. excelling in her music career, walking the red carpet and performing in front of adoring fans.

Hillary meanwhile caught her man cheating on her while pregnant.

C.C. learned that Hillary intends to leave her cheating partner and keep the baby.

‘That’s amazing. That’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard of,’ C.C. told her bestie.

The familiar notes of the movie’s classic theme song Wind Beneath My Wings belted out by Menzel played out as the scene switched to a hospital.

C.C. after apparently receiving some tragic news burst into tears as Hillary’s daughter entered the frame.

Beaches will premiere on January 21 on Lifetime.

The TV remake was directed by Allison Anders, 62, who is a Peabody Award and MacArthur Genius Grant winner.

Her big screen credits include Gas Food Lodging and Mi Vida Loca and she also directed the 2013 Lifetime biopic Ring Of Fire about the life of June Carter Cash and Johnny Cash.
