Bette Midler sends warning to ‘Spamilton’ cast

Bette Midler surprised the cast of “Spamilton” after she learned that the revamped satirical musical also spoofs her and her hit, “Hello, Dolly!” Spies said the cast of the parody — which has moved close to the real “Hamilton” and updated its shtick to also make fun of more Broadway neighbors — received a surprise note from Midler last week with a magnum of Champagne.
“Break a leg tonight on your first preview,” Midler wrote before warning: “Go easy on me, or I’ll break your legs myself! Xx, Bette.”
