Dear Kenny: According to “Rose” director Mark Rydell, Bette was nervous before’shooting began, but “she’s like a fine thoroughbred horse that dances furiously until it’s put in the starting gate. She was high strung and nervous, but the minute I said ‘go,’ it all became a constructive source of energy she applied to her work.
