October 2008 – Bootleg Betty Celebrates 6th Anniversary

ATLANTA, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ — October 11 is National Coming Out Day. This year people won’t just be taking their gay pride to the streets — they will be taking it to Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and countless other social networks. And for a growing number of them, it will mean using SpinVox voice-to-content to broadcast their pride online and out loud.

With SpinVox, you can speak your blog posts and social network updates by simply dialing a number on your mobile phone and leaving a message. For users with several blogs and networks, a new ‘Ping through SpinVox’ service is available that simultaneously broadcasts spoken posts and updates to thirty of the most popular social networking sites. You can also ‘come out’ in grand electronic fashion by using SpinVox to blast spoken messages via email and SMS to as many friends and family members as you like.

SpinVox also offers the following five ways to express gay pride via social networking:

  • 1. Add gay pride “Flair” to your Facebook page. A new SpinVox button is
available through the Pieces of Flair application by searching for
    “SpinVox Coming Out.”
  • 2. Add Diana Ross’ “I’m Coming Out” to your MySpace, Facebook, Bebo,
imeem, Hi5, iLike, and other social network pages.
  • 3. Start or join a gay pride network online. Many niche gay and lesbian
audiences still need forums to call their own!
  • 4. Become a fan of Liz Taylor, Liza Minnelli, Madonna, Bette Midler and
    Cher on your Facebook page.
  • 5. Declare your support by promoting gay friendly sites to your blogroll.
  • 6. Celebrate Bootleg Betty’s 6th anniversary 🙂

“With SpinVox you can update your entire social network in your own voice while you’re celebrating National Coming Out Day,” said Christina Domecq, SpinVox co-founder and CEO. “Our mission is to help everyone speak freely and we support those who want to share how they feel ‘in the moment’ with their friends and family.”

SpinVox is free to anyone wishing to use the service to update their blog or social network. Visit http://www.spinvox.com for more. You can also Ping through SpinVox by signing up at http://ping.fm/.
