Don’t offer Bette Midler a drink thinking you’re doing her a favor.
Midler, a compact five-foot one-inch, would rather have a dainty or a doughnut. She says:
“Short people shouldn’t be allowed to drink. There’s nowhere for it to go. It takes half as much to get a short person drunk as a tall one. When I’m out with tall people, I always seem to be drunker than they are.”
