While she was autographing copies of her new book, A View From A Broad, a photographic account of her recent world tour, singer-actress-author Bette Midler was handed a-piece of paper.
When she turned it over she discovered that it was a blank check. Her feathers unruffled, a cool Midler simply made the check out to herself to the tune of $5,000 and handed it back to its rightful owner.
