Midler has been vocal about her politics in the past, donating to democratic campaigns and using her Twitter as a sounding board for her views on controversial issues. The 67-year-old’s latest stance compared the availability of guns to that of health insurance, angering some conservative publications.

I always found it difficult to understand the love of guns some Americans have. But not wanting universal health care is beyond reasoning.
