Singer Bette Midler on Thursday mocked President-elect Donald Trump for attacking Vanity Fair magazine.
“Donald Trump is mad at Vanity Fair for a bad review of Trump Grill restaurant. He’s as fragile as their terrible taco bowl shell!” she wrote on Twitter.
Trump lashed out at Vanity Fair earlier Thursday, hammering the publication’s success under editor Graydon Carter.
“Has anyone looked at the really poor numbers of @VanityFair Magazine,” he tweeted that morning. “Way down, big trouble, dead! Graydon Carter, no talent, will be out!”
Vanity Fair published a review Wednesday panning Trump Grill, a steakhouse located in the lobby of Trump Tower in New York City.
“The allure of Trump’s restaurant, like the candidate, is that it seems like a cheap version rich,” Tina Nguyen wrote, adding the restaurant “reveals everything you need to know about our next president.”
Vanity Fair responded to Trump’s criticism Thursday, meanwhile, by using it to promote the publication’s content to readers.
“The magazine Trump doesn’t want you to read,” blared a new banner on the magazine’s website. “Subscribe now!”
Carter sparked a decades-long feud with Trump after calling the billionaire a “short-fingered vulgarian” in Spy magazine.
The Vanity Fair editor last month mocked Trump’s White House win by declaring in an article that only in America “could man whose staff took away his Twitter account be given the nuclear codes.”
He is going down. More worried about Saturday Nite Live, a Broadway show, and his bad resaurant review than the security of our nation. And, come on man, he is so in on the Russia hacking to sabatoge Hillary.
