NYRP: Hurricane Sandy Hits NYC Parks & Gardens

NYRP Needs Your Help To Recover From Hurricane Sandy

We’ve been restoring parks and gardens in NYC’s most underserved communities for nearly two decades – and our parks and gardens were hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. We need your help to repair and rebuild after the damage done to Northern Manhattan’s Sherman Creek Park, Highbridge Park and Fort Tryon Park.

Help NYRP by making a donation today. You can also sign up to volunteer and we’ll contact you when it is safe to be back in our parks or if there are opportunities to help in our gardens.

Check the status of our parks. View more photos of the damage on Facebook.

With your help, resilience and generosity, Hulaween raised more than $1.8 million to advance NYRP’s mission to restore and revitalize parks, gardens and open spaces in underserved communities.

Attendees made their way to The Waldorf=Astoria in theatrical costumes honoring the french-themed gala “A Season in Hell,” where they were greeted by can-can dancers and offered one-eyed cocktails. Host Bette Midler arrived as the ghost of Coco Chanel while guests enjoyed Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten‘s three “corpse” menu.
